As I talked about yesterday, we went to see Weird Al in concert on Tuesday. I think I’ve also mentioned that I got a new camera? Actually I think I mentioned that in a post I haven’t finished and published yet. Okay, so important fact: I got a new camera. I’m a bit of addicted to taking pictures too, so take that trait plus new toy plus important situation I’m totally stoked about, mix liberally with great seats and lax security checks, and you get a huge pic spam that I’m now sharing with you.
And would you believe this is only about a third of the pictures I actually took? Well believe it. I love you so hard, digital age.
(The full-size of these pics is a bit big at 800×600. Helpful tip: In both Firefox and IE, you can press F11 to toggle full screen, which may help depending on your monitor size.)
Rubén Valtierra (keys) and Steve Jay (bass).
Rubén was seriously into this.
Weird Al or Mark Mothersbaugh? IMPOSSIBLE TO SAY.
Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz (drums) and Jim West (guitar).
I sadly was at just the wrong angle to get very many good pictures of Bermuda.
The crazed fans loved this one too.
My favourite part is not just the devil horns and the thrashing,
but the fact that it's for Weird Al ... for Weird Al during his *DEVO* parody.
"CNR". Yeah, he was pretty into this one.
The crazed fans again. Doesn't the "Gathering of the Juggalos" just MAKE THIS?
And this is me enjoying the zoom on my new camera.
The fans really REALLY liked this song.
With a face like that, how could you not wanna b his lovr 2?
So I've never been to a Weird Al concert before, nor have I read any write-ups. Him coming into the audience to get all up in several attendees? A beautiful surprise. Particularly from the observational safety of the balcony.
He may have been telling her she smelled of Fritos. She looks charmed by this. Perhaps it's a better line than it sounds
At this point he's clamored over several seats to get to this lady. Her expression says it all.
Come enjoy the comedy musical extravaganza and complete lack of personal space.
This person is just okay.
How up close and personal is TOO up close and personal?
There's some serious belting going on in this song. Now bear in mind that we're only about halfway through the show at this point, yet his voice sounds just as strong at the end as it did at the beginning. An intense hour of Rock Band vocals and I'm shagged out.
Someone took Al's gum. He really wants it back.
