Rock Band DLC

Sadly I’m still recovering from my bout of PAX pox so this is little more than a catch-up list of DLC with links. (The rest of my PAX write-ups will be coming this weekend and into next week.)

Today’s announcement had some thrilling stuff in it though, so don’t let my lack of enthusing in the post make you think I’m not excited. I’m excited. I’m so excited, I’m riding a tiger right now.

Week of 7 September
Snoop Dogg 8-pack! This has been in the pipeline for a while (we’re talking months and months and months) so no surprise at its arrival. Also, an important thing to note: each of these tracks were re-records specifically for Rock Band. Consequently, I’m going to link to videos of the game charts rather than the official videos or album versions. If you’re a purist, you’ll want to make sure to check these out first. From a gameplay perspective, however, these rerecords are very welcome; the instrumentation is vastly improved.

Drop It Like It’s Hot
Ridin’ In My Chevy
Sensual Seduction
Snoop’s Upside Ya Head
Tha Shiznit
That’s Tha Homie
Who Am I (What’s My Name)?

Week of 14 September
Lots of singles this week, including DIO. Which, you know, rules just about everything ever.

Dio – “Holy Diver” +
Dio – “Stand Up and Shout” +
Juliana Hatfield – “Nirvana
Morrissey – “Irish Blood, English Heart
Silverchair – “Straight Lines
The Smiths – “This Charming Man” +
Underoath – “Writing on the Walls

+ = LEGO-compatible

Despite claims, I don’t think the Dio/Morrissey match-up is quite as insane as Disturbed/Buffett or Slipknot/Simon&Garfunkel … but yeah, it ranks.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
