Just put in a new comment system. I’ve been a little dissatisfied with WordPress’s default (mostly in the threading system going down to about the width of my thumb). I’m attempting Disqus at the moment, and while it looks all pretty right in in these first five minutes, you guys are the best judge of what you like. Let me know if you like it, hate it, think it’s broken, all that shit. Also I […]

Rogue (fuck yeah!) #5

When I picked up my first X-Men comic back in the 80s, I quickly realized one thing: Rogue is bloody awesome. It is truth. It is law. Every Wednesday I will share with you a moment, a panel, a scene, that proves it. Because: Rogue. FUCK YEAH. X-Treme X-Men was a great damn book that never got the love it deserved. It had its problems, yeah – not the least of which was that totally […]

A Href = Tuesday, 22 March 2011

For a while there, every Monday I would post up a collection of cool stuff I’d found on the Intertubes throughout the week. Then I stopped. Then I meant to start up again but didn’t. Then I meant to do it yesterday but didn’t. Rather than wait a whole ‘nother week (and possibly let it slip by again), I’m just pulling the trigger on today. I’m guessing no one will much care but me. I […]

I hope you choke on your Christmas ornament.

Most of my day was ass. I failed at absolutely everything I tried to do today, except possibly breathing. Firefox 4 leaked a bit early. Interestingly this comes on the heels of me being so sick of Firefox slowdowns that I was about to give Chrome another shot. I didn’t try the beta so the grand total of my hands-on experience with 4.0 is all of about 30 minutes, but thus far I’m pleased. You […]

Sunday Starcade.

Okay, Mass Effect 2. I think I’m finally into you. Your combat system isn’t so much growing on me as I’ve learned to just suck it up and deal with you, and your storyline becomes increasingly interesting. I’m glad I decided to return to you this morning. Speaking of returning to things, Mike and Scott resumed their work on the radio project. All went well, right up to the exact moment it didn’t. Then it […]

Bored of the Things.

Hit with just insane boredom tonight. Nothing I wanted to read, nothing I wanted to watch, nothing I wanted to play, nothing I wanted to do. Hate nights like that with a passion. There are times when I envy dogs for their simple joys and love of naps. Tonight was such a time. No real “super moon” for us tonight, a bit too cloudy out there. Pity, I was looking forward to unduly panicking.

Live from New York... 1x09: Elliott Gould

All the SNL reviews have been listed together in a burst of fine over-organization, which you can see here if that’s your thing. Elliott Gould :: 10 January 1976 Cold Open: The Dead String Quartet (Aykroyd, Newman, Morris, Chase) perform. Slowly, as they are all dead. A domino reaction topples them, knocking the cellist (Chevy) off the stage. Live from New York… It’s a nice change from what’s become the typical President Ford cold open. […]

We get to burning.

As I type, Mike and Scott are still building a radio. They’ve been at this since about 6pm, so over five hours now, minus 30-40 minutes for food. If Mike were a Reddit post, he’d be a TIL. Jett, meanwhile, sort of hates it when Scott (or any not-Mike male, actually) is around, so that means five hours of her woofing grumpily whenever he so much as speaks or moves. And that’s nothing but fun. […]

Rock Band DLC, Week of 22 March

Leaked early and posting late. Gotta love how that works. Next week will see the release of the keys-intensive Billy Joel pack that was talked about when Rock Band announced it had Billy Joel to give. It should go without saying that if you’re big on keys, you won’t want to miss this.   Billy Joel Challenge 6 Pack “I Go to Extremes” “Miami 2017 (Seen the Lights Go Out on Broadway)” “My Life” “Prelude/Angry […]
